Marker Tip
From Ella Kennen,Your Guide to Paintball. Sometimes you are in the middle of a game, and your paintball gun decides to jam up on you. Dont panic! Chances are, its something easy to fix. The ideas below might seem obvious, but its easy to overlook the obvious, when thats probably whats wrong with your gun.

* Make sure the safety is off. Even if you KNOW the safety was off a little while ago, the marker might have bumped something that put the safety back on.
* Did you run out of paint? Its amazing how this will sometimes happen without you noticing. Just reload, recock, and you're in the game again.
* Is your gas tank screwed on tight? The pressure from the tank I what propels the ball forward, but if some gas is escaping to the atmosphere instead of being forced through the barrel, it will cause misfiring.
* Is the gun's barrel clear? (Make sure the safety is on and your hand is off the trigger before you look!) If one ball broke in your barrel, it will cause others to bust, too. You will have to clean the barrel with a squeegee before you can fire again.
* Is there gas left in the tank? If you dont have a gauge, this can be hard to determine. Think back to the last time you filled it up and how many balls you have fired since then. If nothing else is wrong with your gun, you may need a gas refill.
* Remember to **** the gun. Usually, when the problem is something else (tank isnt on tight, safety is off), you will have to recock the marker.

If none of these quick fixes work, something might be wrong with your paintball guns internal mechanic. You should consider taking the marker to a pro shop they will often make minor repairs for free (dont assume, though; be sure to ask about pricing first!)
