Hi guys,

Long time, no see. Anyone have contact info for Oak Flats? Is Chuck and his son still running it?

I have tried to call Chuck a couple times in the past week, left voicemails, sent a couple emails about whether Oak Flats will be open on Sunday, but have gotten no response.

That's a bummer. Anyone else know what's going on?

haven't tried calling him lately, I know he does get busy with work. I'm not sure if they're doing open play every weekend right now or not

That's cool. I've gotten together a group of 10+ 1st timers that want to play. Most don't have equipment, so I was thinking a private day at OF would work well for them and was wondering if Chuck still did that.

Six of us went out Saturday before last and the gate was closed. Looked as if someone had been out there a couple weeks before. We have a decent sized group hoping to play out there this coming Sunday.

Last time I was there (back in 2005 or so) they did a regular open day every week, then the other day was reserved for private parties or events. I was also wondering if that's still how he operates.

Chuck went out of town and I know this because he knows my Uncle and my dad saw him at the airport on Monday

At the last event Chuck informed me that he is doing a lot of travel for work and is basically not open on Saturdays for a while. He is only doing reserved Sundays right now.

Any idea if he will be back by Sunday? I have left messages for him that we have a group of about ten. If he isn't back, do you think it would be okay if we went out there and played without him being there?

It is not an "open" field, it is private owned land. So the short answer is No, thats called trespassing. :D

Yes, I'm aware of that. But if Chuck has a history of letting people play on his land without him being there, then maybe he would be accepting of us going out there. But I think we are just going to say forget Oak Flats and play someplace else.
